JAL adds Singapore as a new 787 destination and announces route, frequency and fleet plans for first half of FY2012

Japan Airlines (JAL) has just announced the route, flight frequency and fleet plans for first half of fiscal year 2012. Part of that includes a new 787 destination, Singapore (SIN). So far, announced JAL 787 destinations include Boston, Beijing, Delhi, Moscow and Singapore. Below are details of the announced plans.

International Passenger Service
New Service
JAL will start Tokyo Narita (NRT) - Boston (BOS) with 787-8 from April 22 2012. At first, JAL will operate 4 weekly (Mo, We, Fr, Su) flights and will increase to daily from June 1 2012 when more 787s have been delivered.

JL007/AA5921 BOS 13:10 (*13:20) - NRT 15:50+1
JL008/AA5922 NRT 11:30 - BOS 11:20 (*11:30)

Aircraft Change
All of the aircraft changes announced are changes to 787-8. But since 787 delivery schedules are yet to be confirmed. JAL has not loaded the 787 seat maps on these flights yet. It will get loaded once the schedule has been confirmed. So keep checking :P

JL749/JL740 Tokyo Narita (NRT) - Delhi (DEL)
4 of the 5 weekly flights will be downsized from 777-200ER to 787-8 from end of March. JL749/740 will be operated with 787-8 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, and 777-200ER on Thursday. All 3 weekly service (Mo, Th, Sa) will be downsized from 777-200ER to 787-8 from end of March. JAL will probably discontinue premium economy service when this happens.
