Japan Airlines (JAL) announced the JAL Doraemon Jet 2013 couple of days ago but has kept the actual livery a "secret". But thanks to spy shots on Japanese aviation site FlyTeam and the inflatable JAL Doraemon Jet toy, we were able to get a sneak peak of the livery. But today the JAL Doraemon Jet finally took off and JAL has finally officially unveiled the special livery with a Japanese press release.

[Update: Added video and link to pictures of the launch flight]

Just like most of other special liveries, the Doraemon Jet livery is made up of high end 3M stickers. The Doraemon characters were printed on both sides of the 767-300ER (JA656J) in the rear fuselage. The size of the stickers are 11.0m x 3.6m. The plane will be flying all over Japan until the end of March 2013. For more details of the Doreamon tie-up, you can refer to my previous post.

Japanese aviation news site Aviation Wire has some nice pictures of today's commencement flight from Tokyo Haneda to Tokushima. Of course Doraemon was there to greet the passengers and the pilots had some fun taking pictures with Doraemon too. Below is the video of JAL Doraemon Jet 2013 commencement flight arriving at Tokushima and taking off for the return flight.
