While I was relaxing at the JAL First Class Lounge at New York JFK, the service manager came visited us and apologized that the boarding time will be slightly delayed for around 5 minutes. He told us he will inform us once again when it is ready for boarding. Not a big deal for me though I was eager to try out the JAL Suite for the first time but I could wait for 5 more minutes :) Finally the service manager once again came inform us that the flight is now ready for boarding. So I waited for everyone to leave the lounge, took some pictures and asked the service manager to take some pictures of me too. How often you get to have the entire First Class lounge for yourself :D

Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced today that it will move up the SKY SUITE 777 (SS7) rollout on the Tokyo Narita (NRT) - New York (JFK) route once again to May 1 2013, 9 days ahead of its originally planned. Initially JAL will only offer SS7 on alternate days, i.e. only odd-numbered days in May. As of right now, JAL still plans to make this a daily service from May 29 2013 (or May 30 if you count the first even-numbered day as the day that SS7 turns into daily service)

The SS7 offers improved cabin in all 4 classes with wider seat width and pitch in most classes. One of the most significant changes is the introduction of JAL SKY SUITE which JAL chose to install a modified version of an international First Class seats in its Business Class cabin. Japan Airlines (JAL) will once again re-open the "JAL Welcome! New Sky Cafe" for a limited time. Just like the previous cafes in Roppongi Hills and Aoyama, you will be able to try out the demo units of JAL's state-of-art long-haul products installed on the SKY SUITE 777 (SS7) and dishes from its enhanced catering service dubbed BEED SKY AUBERGE by JAL. This is a perfect opportunity for those who cannot afford or still don't have a chance to fly on the SS7 to try out the JAL New Sky experience!

Japan Airlines (JAL) has finally announced the specific rollout dates for its inflight Wi-Fi service, JAL SKY Wi-Fi, for its European routes. Passengers traveling between Tokyo Narita (NRT) and London (LHR) and Frankfurt (FRA) will be able to enjoy this paid service from April 17 2013, initially on alternate days only. After this, JAL will further expand this service to flights between NRT and Paris (CDG) in mid-August (hint: that's probably when CDG is getting the SKY SUITE 777 (SS7) service ;))

Japan Airlines (JAL) has recently started rolling out its state-of-art long-haul products dubbed SKY SUITE 777 (SS7) to its entire Boeing 777-300ER fleet. The goal is to create a JAL "New Sky" experience with fresh products and services. One of the most drastic changes is using the B/E Aerospace's Super First Class seats in its Business Class cabin to provide a comfortable personal space for the valued customers. Today, JAL steps up its game once again by announcing yet another inflight enhancement for its SS7 Business Class passengers. With the latest inflight entertainment system (IFE) update, Business Class passengers will be able to browse through the "Anytime You Wish" a la carte menu as well as the inflight duty free shopping menu using the touch-screen LCD controller. They will also be able to place an order using the same controller as well.
