Japan Airlines (JAL) has just announced a discounted award campaign on airberlin flights, which also include flights operated by airberlin's subsidiary NIKI. This campaign will last for a year, from January 21 2013 till January 20 2014. During the campaign period, awards can be exchanged with as little as 9,000 JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) miles.
As JAL has switched to a mile-based award scheme for its partners, the total miles required will be based on the total sector miles of your roundtrip ticket. As usual one-way ticket redemption is prohibited. And the discount only applies to economy ticket. Below are the discounted redemption rates
1 - 1,000 total trip miles
Discounted: 9,000 JMB miles
Standard: 15,000 JMB miles
1,001 - 2,000 total trip miles
Discounted: 12,000 JMB miles
Standard: 20,000 JMB miles
2,001 - 4,000 total trip miles
Discounted: 15,000 JMB miles
Standard: 21,000 JMB miles
