Japan Airlines (JAL) will switch to a completely new amenity kits lineup from end of February 2018. ETRO, an Italian luxury brand, will be featured in the international First Class amenity kits on both outbound and inbound flights, as well as the international Business Class kits on the outbound flights (i.e. flights from Japan). For flights flying into Japan, the Business Class amenity kits will be designed by Tatsumura Textile, a famous manufacturer in Kyoto.

The outer surface of the pouch designed by Tatsumura is made with an original fabric woven with a traditional Kikko pattern and ornamented with an elegant Setsugekka textile design with JAL’s tsuru (crane) motif. JAL plans to change the color of these pouches every 3 months to depict the 4 seasons in Japan. First will be blue for spring, followed by red for summer, white for autumn, and black for winter. This is a more frequent change compared to the previous kits which usually switch to a new color every 10 months or so.

The new First Class amenity kits will start rolling out on NRT-LAX/JFK/ORD and HND-JFK/SFO/LHR/CDG routes from mid March, while the Business Class kits will be available from late February on NRT-LAX/JFK/ORD/BOS/DFW/SAN/YVR/FRA/HEL/DME/SYD/MEL, HND-JFK/SFO/LHR/CDG, and KIX-LAX routes.
