Japan Airlines (JAL) has been rolling out series of JAL FlySafe measures to try keep passengers safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes measures such as hygiene and social distancing measures throughout the airport and onboard the aircrafts, complimentary COVID-19 coverage for international passengers, and pre-flight COVID-19 test for domestic dynamic package passengers. For a limited time, JAL will expand the domestic pre-flight test arrangement to all Japan region JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) members who travel on eligible domestic fares.

Japan Airlines (JAL) has finally announced a new tentative launch date of the non-stop service from Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO) to Tokyo Haneda (HND). Based on the latest international network announcement, JAL will "reinstate" the scheduled non-stop HND-SVO service from April 22 2021. JAL will operate once weekly non-stop flight from Haneda every Thursday and once weekly non-stop flight from Sheremetyevo every Friday.

Japan Airlines (JAL) will switch to a completely new amenity kits lineup from end of February 2018. ETRO, an Italian luxury brand, will be featured in the international First Class amenity kits on both outbound and inbound flights, as well as the international Business Class kits on the outbound flights (i.e. flights from Japan). For flights flying into Japan, the Business Class amenity kits will be designed by Tatsumura Textile, a famous manufacturer in Kyoto.

Japan Airlines (JAL) has introduced Airweave comforter on international First Class from July 1 2017. The new comforter will compliment the existing Airweave DUAL MODE mattress pad and Airweave Pillow S-LINE to provide First Class passengers one of the most comfortable sleeps in the sky.

Japan Airlines will roll out brand new First Class amenity kits by Porsche Design from March 28 2017. The new kits will come in 2 different colors with red one being offered on outbound flights with the grey one being offered on inbound ones.

Japan Airlines (JAL) will enhance the lounge service at Aomori Airport and Osaka Kansai Airport in the coming months.  For Aomori Airport, JAL will be using a 3rd party operated lounge while at Kansai Airport, JAL will renovate its existing international Sakura Lounge.

Japan Airlines (JAL) will once again collaborate with Japanese burger chain MOS BURGER in its latest installment of the popular AIR SERIES, a special Economy Class and Premium Economy inflight meal which JAL collaborate with well-know restaurants and food chains. This will mark the 5th collaborate with MOS BURGER and JAL says this should be the most popular and classic hamburger since MOS BURGER was founded!

Japan Airlines (JAL) will finally expand its inflight entertainment (IFE) offerings dubbed JAL Mooove! from April 2015.On top of the already announced JAL SKY Wi-Fi service expansion, JAL will add more hollywood and Japanese movies and dramas on its international flights equipped with the latest MAGIC-V and MAGIC-VI systems. On domestic flights, JAL will also expand its Wi-Fi video service to offer up to 10 video streaming programs from April 2015.  This is most likely a response to the recent IFE enhancement announced by All Nippon Airways (ANA).

A while back Japan Airlines (JAL) announced that it will expand its inflight Wi-Fi service, JAL SKY Wi-Fi, onto the 767-300ER, 777-200ER 787 fleet within the current fiscal year. Today JAL announced more details of this rollout plan.

Japan Airlines (JAL) first rolled out the exclusive restaurant in the sky dubbed "JAL BEDD SKY AUBERGE" back in January 2013 to offer high quality inflight meals on flights to various destinations. From March 1 2015, JAL will further enhance its JAL BEDD SKY AUBERGE dining experience for those traveling from Los Angeles and Chicago, and those traveling on red-eye flights.

Japan Airlines (JAL) plan to streamline check-in process by offering self-tagging service for its domestic passengers departing from Tokyo Haneda (HND) Terminal 1. JAL plans to roll out these self-tagging kiosks from end of March 2015.

Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced the new way to determine fuel surcharge for tickets sold in Japan from fiscal year 2015 which starts on April 1 2015. The change is prompted by the wide fluctuation of JPY against USD over the years. But the good news is even with this change, everyone will enjoy a lower fuel surcharge for tickets issued between April 1 and May 31 2015.

Japan Airlines (JAL) will renew its amenity kits for international First Class from March 30 2014. Unlike the previous JAL branded amenity kits, the new kits are a collaboration between JAL and LOEWE, a Spanish high-class brand. This is the first time LOEWE ever collaborate with an airline.

Japan Airlines (JAL) announces the JAL SKY Wi-Fi service expansion plan today. JAL will install eXConnect from Panasonic on its 777-200ER, 767-300ER, and 787 fleets aggressively to provide inflight internet service on long-haul flights to North America, Europe and Southeast Asia.

Japan Airlines (JAL) has released the details of the revamped Sakura Lounges at Tokyo Haneda international terminal today. It has undergone constructions since October 2013 and will finally be ready on March 30 2014 when the new day-time international flights takeoff.

Japan Airlines (JAL) has just announced the plan to increase frequency on the Tokyo Narita (NRT) - New York JFK (JFK) route to 2 daily from March 30 2014. The newly added flight will be operated with a Boeing 787-8 (788) with Business Class and Economy Class service only.

If I have to guess which of the AIR SERIES dishes is the most popular one, AIR YOSHINOYA will definitely but my first guess. No other dishes in the popular AIR SERIES has been served as much as AIR YOSHINOYA did and it has just made another record by returning to the inflight menu for the 5th time! This time passengers on Japan Airlines (JAL) flights from Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco will be able to enjoy the treat.

Can you image a tonkotsu (pork bone broth) style ramen without pork or meat? That's exactly what Japan Airlines (JAL) will be serving from December 1 2013 on select long-haul flights to Japan. JAL has collaborated with a famous ramen place "Kyushu Jangara" in Japan to develop this healthy version of the classic tonkotsu ramen. This is probably JAL's response to ANA's collaboration with IPPUDO

Colonel Sanders is back again this winter! Last year, Japan Airlines (JAL) introduced the controversial AIR KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN (KFC) as the 7th installation of its popular AIR SERIES which JAL cooperates with popular restaurants and food chains in Japan to bring familiar tastes onboard for its customers. Despite some people were skeptical about serving fast food onboard, it was well-received by the passengers. That's why JAL will once again bring back AIR KFC this year to celebrate the holiday since that's what the Japanese have for the holiday. So KFC is now the third company after MOS Burger and Yoshinoya which JAL has collaborated with more than once in the AIR SERIES.
