JAL Haneda facility improvements

Japan Airlines (JAL) had announced more details on the upcoming launch of Haneda international services. There will be lots of facility improvements and campaigns. One of the major new improvements are of course the new lounges at the new HND international terminal! And there will be JAL's first ever ARRIVAL LOUNGE! Below are the details.

Reduced Connection Time
Domestic -> International: 70 minutes -> 60 minutes
International -> Domestic: 80 minutes -> 70 minutes
International -> International: 60 minutes -> 50 minutes

*For JTA flights, the above MCTs only apply to OKA flights.

New Lounges at International Terminal
JAL will open two departure lounges: JAL First and JAL Sakura lounges with internet connection, shower facilities, latest massage chair, hot food, etc. As you can see in the picture included in the press release, it has the same warm and elegant design as the Narita lounges. Also there will be JAL's first ever arrival lounge. Shower, snacks, drinks, etc will be available. Details of lounge usage will be available later.

New Style of Boarding
JAL will introduce the popular QuiC Touch & Go boarding to HND's international flights. Passengers can either use their IC-enabled JMB card and JALCard, print out a 2D barcode or use their mobile phone to go through security and board. Details of this new style of boarding can be found on JAL website.

Campaigns for HND launch (Oct 31 2010 - March 31 2011)
1. Your choice of gift for HND-CDG and HND-SFO F and C passengers (there are F classes?)
Only ex-Japan roundtrip tickets issued in Japan are eligible. Only normal First class, normal Business class, JAL Business Saver, and JAL Business Saver 14 tickets are eligible. Passengers will have three choices: helicopter service, car pickup service upon arrival and 15,000 yen JAL IC gift card. Details of this campaign can be found on JAL website

2. JAL Baggage-Free Check-in Service Promotion
JAL's baggage delivery service, ABC, customers who fly on eligible Haneda flights between the promotional period can use the baggage-free check-in for free. 500 yen fee will be waived for Haneda flights. Of course you still have to pay for the delivery service. Details can be found on JAL website.

3. Reduced rental fee for JAL International Wifi
The rental fee will be reduced to 790 yen per day for eligible JAL customers. You can connect your wi-fi enabled device to the internet through this mi-fi device. 1 JMB miles will be earned per 100 yen spent. Registration starts on September 10 2010. Details can be found on JAL website.

Improved Domestic Lounges
JAL has renovated the JAL Diamond Premier and Sakura lounges in the domestic terminal. The new lounges will be on the 3rd floor and you can enjoy the view of the HND runway. There will be library and family areas, shower and massage facilities as well. Also passengers who are ineligible for the Sakura lounge will be able to pay for the lounge access. Reservation will be done on JAL website. These new lounges will open on October 20 2010.

Improved Check-in and Security at Domestic Terminal
1. New and improved Smiles Support and Priority Guest check-in counters
2. Improved check-in counters for JAL First class, JMB Diamond, and JGC Premier passengers.
3. Possible new express security lane for JMB Sapphire and JGC members (Info missing in the English version of press release)


Improved Domestic Boarding Gates
Easier to using boarding gate. Will be able to print your new seats even if you change it after going to security check point.

Updated HND Schedule
JAL flight 31 from HND to TSA will now departs 3 hours earlier than previously announced. The daily flight will departs at 08:10 instead. Also, similar to ANA, JAL won't be able to launch the added HND-China flights as originally announced. There will be added domestic flights instead.
