No change in fuel surcharge for Dec 2011 - Jan 2012

As expected, Japan Airlines (JAL) is maintaining its current level of fuel surcharge as the 2 month jet fuel average is still in the USD120-130 range. Therefore, the oneway surcharge on a long-haul flight will remain at USD288. But thanks to the standardization of fuel surcharge calculation JAL rolled out in October 2011, the surcharge could be quite a bit lower compared to the previous peak. JAL will announce the next fuel surcharge revision in December 2011 for the Feb-Mar 2012 period. For more details of this surcharge revision, you can refer to JAL press release (Japanese, English)
