JAL will be using the BA lounges at Boston

Japan Airlines (JAL) has uploaded the airport information page for Boston ahead of the launch of the Tokyo Narita - Boston route. And as expected, JAL won't be operating its own lounges at BOS, instead they will be using the British Airways First Lounge and British Airways Terraces lounge.
JMB Diamond and JGC Premier passengers are invited to the BA F lounge while JMB Sapphire and JGC members, business class passengers, and economy class passengers on full fares are invited to use the BA Terraces lounge. You will be able to use the JAL lounge coupons at the Terraces lounge too.

Other than the lounges, it looks like JAL will be using BA ground staffs at BOS too. They went through a "Dry Run" at BOS to simulate everything from passengers check-in to boarding and baggage handling for training propose. From the pictures uploaded on JAL Official Facebook page, you can see the check-in staffs are wearing the BA tie and gate agent with BA uniform! Hopefully JAL will train them well so they know which priority tags to use :P

For more information on BOS and lounge eligibility, you can refer to JAL website (Japanese, English)

  1. That is a pity if they are going to use gate E8A for all the JAL departures. If I remember correctly, you can't see the apron (or the aircraft) for that gate from within the terminal because there aren't any windows! Since this is a very low-volume time of day for terminal E, they should move over to gate 7 or gate 6.

  2. Ouch! That sucks for those of us who love to take picture of the plane before departure and it's the new 787 too :( I guess we will find out in a day or two
