Every year Japan Airlines (JAL) will organize a special sunrise tour on the New Year day so passengers can watch the New Year sunrise near the Fuji Mountain up in the air. And this year is no difference. JAL announces today it will be organizing two New Year sunrise tours this year, one from Tokyo Haneda and one from Tokyo Narita.

Both flights will be departed at 6:00 and arrive at around 8:00. The actual flying time will be around 1.5 hours. Passengers who joined these sunrise tours will receive a certificate and the new year red and white steamed buns. Also, special new year lunchbox and regular drinks will be served. All passengers will have a chance to win some cool prizes in the lucky draw which will be held inflight. But if you join the tours, it will cost you because seats are limited.

Narita Tour
A Boeing 767-300 with international configuration and Skyluxe seats will be used on this flight. The plane will have the new Tsurumaru livery. If you want a window seat, JAL will only sell them in pairs. For business class, the window seat pair (i.e. AC and HK) will cost JPY78,000 for two persons, and the middle seats which you can buy individually at JPY24,000 per person. For economy class, window seat pairs will cost JPY63,000 for two persons and the middle seats will cost JPY18,500 per person. The seats above the wings are cheaper for the obvious reasons, window pairs will cost JPY58,000 for two persons while the middle seats will cost JPY18,000 per person. The tour will go on sale at 10:30 JST on November 14 2012. There are total of 210 seats available and JAL will only operate the tour if there are at least 160 passengers.

Haneda Tour
A Boeing 737-800 with domestic configuration and Class J seats will be used on this flight. The plane will have the new Tsurumaru livery. If you want a window seat, JAL will again only sell them in pairs. For Class J, the window seat pair (i.e. AC and JK) will cost JPY79,000 for two persons, and the aisle seats (i.e. seat H) will cost JPY26,000 per person. For economy class, window seat pairs (i.e. AB and JK) will cost JPY70,000 for two persons and the aisle seats (i.e. seat C and H) will cost JPY20,500 per person. The seats above the wings are once again cheaper for the obvious reasons, window pairs will cost JPY68,000 for two persons while the middle seats will cost JPY19,500 per person. The tour will go on sale at 10:30 JST on November 15 2012, a day after the Narita Tour went on sale. There are total of 150 seats available and JAL will only operate the tour if there are at least 110 passengers.
