JAL expands code sharing agreement with Jetstar

Japan Airlines has reached an agreement with Jetstar (JQ) to expand their existing code sharing deal to include the Kansai - Cairns service operated by JQ from April 1 2010

This is actually a new route commencing on the same day. JQ plans to operate this 4 weekly flight with A330. Days of operation are Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. The code sharing agreement include economy class only and meals and soft drinks are included as part of the ticket. Reservation starts on March 25 2010. Issue your ticket now if you want to avoid the fuel surcharge hike from April 1.

Below are the schedules subject to government approvals

JL5079 (Kansai - Cairns) departs at 20:25 and arrives at 5:10 the next day
JL5070 (Cairns - Kansai) departs at 12:20 and arrives at 19:10

Press release from JAL says this is a once daily service which I believe is a typo. I have contacted JAL once again and is waiting for their clarification. By the way they still haven't got back to me for the Fly On Point bonus question. The last time I heard from them, they told me they are investigating the issue :(

Update: JAL confirmed about that typo in the press release and has already fixed the online version. All done within 24 hours. Talk about efficiency :)
