JAL expands code sharing agreement with Mexicana
Japan Airlines announced they will expand its code sharing agreement with Mexicana, another Oneworld carrier. Starting from January 14 2010, JAL will add "JL" codes on MX's Los Angeles (LAX)-Leon/Guanajuato (BJX) and San Francisco (SFO)-Meixco City (MEX) flights while MX will add "MX" code to JAL's San Francisco (SFO)-Tokyo (NRT) flights. Also, MX will also increase its Vancouver-Tokyo and Vancouver-Mexico City codeshare frequencies from January 18 2010. Below are the detail schedules of the new code share flights.
JAL FLIGHTS
Tokyo - San Francisco (JL002 / MX3847)
- Daily operation with 777-300ER.
- Departs at 18:15 and arrives at 10:35*
- Service starts from January 14 2010 and ticket sales starts tomorrow.
San Francisco - Tokyo (JL001 / MX3846)
- 5 weekly code shares (on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) with 777-300ER.
- Departs at 12:25* and arrives at 16:45
- Service starts from January 14 2010 and ticket sales starts tomorrow.
Tokyo - Vancouver (JL018 / MX3851)
- Frequency increases from 5 weekly to daily operation with 747-400
- Departs at 17:40 and arrives at 09:10*
- From January 18 2010.
MEXICANA FLIGHTS
San Francisco - Mexico City (MX141 / JL5774)
- Daily operations with Airbus 318/319/320
- Departs at 22:50* and arrives at 05:00
- Service starts from January 14 2010 and ticket sales starts tomorrow.
Mexico City - San Francisco (MX970 / JL5775)
- 5 weekly code shares (on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) with Airbus 318/319/320.
- Departs at 07:10 and arrives at 10:10*
- Service starts from January 14 2010 and ticket sales starts tomorrow.
Los Angeles - Leon/Guanajuato (MX119 / JL5776)
- 5 weekly operations (Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) with Airbus 318/319/320.
- Departs at 00:55* and arrives at 06:05
- Service starts from January 14 2010 and ticket sales starts tomorrow.
Leon/Guanajuato - Los Angeles (MX112 / JL5777)
- 5 weekly operations (Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) with Airbus 318/319/320.
- Departs at 07:05 and arrives at 08:45*
- Service starts from January 14 2010 and ticket sales starts tomorrow.
Vancouver - Mexico City (MX981 / JL5788)
- Increase from 5 weekly to daily operation with Airbus 319.
- Departs at 12:55* and arrives at 20:20
- January 18 2010.
* Add one hour to flight timing for flights departing from March 14 2010.
