Inamori: JAL needs a sense of crsis

Japan Airlines CEO Kazuo Inamori told reports in Kyodo that JAL will accelerate its efforts to improve profitability because they are bleeding cash every day.

Inamori said JAL will implement measures such as new early retirement programs to accelerate the cost cutting. Even though JAL has operated without disruption since the bankruptcy filing, he worries that the staff don't have enough sense of crisis.

"We're making a very huge loss every day and must stop the bleeding by reducing expenses," he told reporters. "All of us must be aware that we caused society a lot of trouble and must cut expenses thoroughly."
