JAL reached code share agreements with Emirates and Fuji Dream Arilines

Japan Airlines has reached code sharing agreements with Emirates (EK) and Fuji Dream Airlines (FDA). EK's agreement include the new Narita-Dubai service launched in March (as I tweeted a few days ago). While FDA's agreement covers the Shizuoka routes which JAL will withdraw from.

JAL has been code sharing with EK on Osaka-Dubai flights since 2002. The new agreement will expand the code sharing to the new Narita-Dubai flights launched by EK on March 28 2010. EK will operate this 5x (Mon, Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun) weekly flight with 777-300ER that has their latest First Class Suites installed. Ticket sales start today. For flight schedule, you can refer to JAL Press Release.

JAL and FDA first announced their intention to cooperate in January. And they have reached the agreement in a little bit more than a month. Talk about efficiency! The new FDA code share flights will fill the void after JAL withdraw from Shizuoka Airport in April. The agreement covers 3 daily service between Shizuoka and Fukuoka, and 1 daily service between Shizuoka and New Chitose. This is exactly the routes JAL will suspend on April 1 2010. So FDA essentially is picking up the routes JAL suspends. Ticket sales starts on March 1 2010. All flights are operated with E170/E175, the same aircraft type used by JAL on these routes. Below are the detail schedules for April 1 - May 31 (June's schedule will be release later).

FDA153/JAL2857: 11:20-13:00

Sapporo - Shizuoka (1 daily)

For details of the FDA code shares, you can refer to JAL Press Release (in Japanese).
